Lecturers of the program are those who are qualified and prestigious inside and outside Vietnam National University. They hold master’s degree or higher qualifications and graduated in developed countries such as: the United States, Australia, Canada, etc… They give lectures totally in English and have profound knowledge as well as practical experience in their specific fields. In addition, the IS has signed lecturer exchange agreements with several prestigious foreign universities sending overseas lecturers to school to teach some subjects in the program; about 20% of the teaching staff is comprised of foreign lecturers. These educators, both foreign and domestic, form an international community and high-level educational environment within the IS. 

The Visiting Scholar Program based in the International School – VNU is meant to exploit the experience, competency and intelligence of scholars who are working at prestigious universities and research institutes from all around the world in order to contribute to the country’s socio-economic development. This program serves to increase the international integration index of Vietnam National University Hanoi in general and of the International School in particular, and also aims to create motivation, international training and research environment for lecturer staff, to increase the competency and proportion of foreign lecturers, and to receive advanced training and research technologies,  as well as undergraduate management issues from foreign countries.

Visiting scholars will be in charge of an entire subject or conduct the co-teaching activities with lecturers of the International School. The Vietnamese lecturers are encouraged to jointly write lesson plans, teach classes, and advise students. In this process, students and lecturers will experience new work method and approaches that are currently applied at prestigious training establishments abroad. 

In order to achieve maximal efficiency in this activity, the visiting scholars have the privilege of teaching new subjects or those that require to regularly update work methods and knowledge, or those for which there is a lack of high-quality lecturers in Vietnam who can meet the requirements of the program.

Also, the department has been recruiting full-time lecturers specializing in accounting and auditing in addition to hiring visiting lecturers with rich experience in major state-owned or foreign auditing firms and experience in teaching and scientific research.

1. Meet ONE of the following criterias:

• Graduate from high school with minimum high school GPA of 2.5/4.0
• Acquire International Baccalaureate Diploma of 24/45 with Math and English language score of at least 5/7 for each subject.
• Complete A-Level grade C, equivalent to 60/100 each subject.  The combination of subjects required varies among programs.
• Acquire SAT score of 1100/1600
• Acquire ACT score of 22/36

2. Appropriate English proficiency certificate including a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 or Level 4 of Vietnamese Standardized Test of English Proficiency (VSTEP)^*

3. Appropriate medical examination report for overseas study

4. Sufficient finance evidence for overseas study in Vietnam.

(*) Without a required English proficiency certificate, students who meet other qualifications and requirements must study intensive English Foundation program at VNU-IS.
